Children In Need

In 2009 Shooting Fish were awarded funding to deliver a year long project with young people in the cared for system in North Lincolnshire. The project, in collaboration with Children and Young People’s Services, will offer these young people drama and film activities in their school holidays.

Each of the four smaller projects throughout the year will lead into a large premiere event in the summer of 2010, giving these young people the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents to their carers, peers and a wider audience.

Project one is a Play in a Week, taking place in October half term. The young people will have 5 days in which to produce a full production of their own devising. In the guiding hands of Shooting Fish they will undertake every role; writing, directing, performing, set, props, costume, music, technical, management, and many more.

Project two will be a week of film making in February, where the young people will take on all roles in the filmmaking process to make their own short film. Projects three and four will work with the young people for two weeks at a time, working in both film and theatre to allow them to make work they can be really proud of.
