Since 2002 Shooting Fish have delivered a range of workshops to a range of groups across Lincolnshire. Each project is planned to meet the specific needs of the group or project aim, and we pride ourselves on a professional high quality approach to all work across all ages and sectors of the community.
Shooting Fish have a range of skills in working with all ages, from early years and the key stages of the curriculum right up to University level and into old age. We do not believe in ‘stock’ project working, preferring instead to collaborate with a group to help them get the best out of their time with us. Below are some of the things we can help you with and you can download our CV to get an idea of some of the projects we’ve been working on recently.
Fish are all active performers, directors and producers in professional production work, and all of these skills and expertise can be translated into the classroom. We can help your group learn a new skills, such as mask, or lead workshops on voice control, characterisation or status. All aspects of performance, whether they’re feeding into a production or helping to address a specific curriculum need, can be explored in a workshop space with our workshop leaders.
Shooting Fish regularly work with schools to help address issues they face in their curriculum. Often it is about finding new ways to help young people engage with a subject and to take charge of their own learning. We can work with you to tease out what will be most effective to help you engage young people or address the particular problems your group are faced with. We’ve successfully used drama in English, Maths, History, Geography, Media and Technology.
Shooting Fish are able to work with schools outside of normal hours delivering drama training which is particularly useful for confidence building, team work and leadership skills. We are able to deliver one off sessions or work with a group towards a production or work showing. Further Education Shooting Fish are able to deliver a number of advanced workshops suitable for students studying at post 16 and under graduate level. Workshops can be tailor made around a specific text, concentrate on a particular element such as physical theatre, or look more specifically at the work of an individual practitioner such as Stanislavski.
As well as work in schools and youth organisations, Shooting Fish also provide a range of drama activities for young people in holidays and out of school. These include:
Play in a week – Shooting fish have worked with a number of groups in devising a play in a week, including the Buzz Youth Arts Festival, Children in Care, Plowright Anniversary Project and many more.
Summer School - Exploring character, plot and drama for a short production they were developing.
These are just some of the activities Shooting Fish can offer for young people to take part and have some fun. To discuss how we can help, contact us
